From the Vend

In making my first post, I wanted to try to do two things: 1) Add something that was vendeteria worthy - as those conversations are held for the most sacred of topics and 2) see if I could follow Special Kay's last entry by using video clips to showcase the greatness that film has seen in the recent past. The video I am about to share with you is one of my all-time favorites in terms of WTF-ness.

I planned on doing a "vs." like SKay did, but in all honesty - I think it would be unfair and quite possibly cruel to pit another video against the likes of ... ROBOT JOX. What you have here is Anne-Marie Johnson (who killed in her roles on smash hits such as tv's "What's Happening Now" as well as box office buster I'm Gonna Git You Sucka) starring in this 1990 vehicle about Mech battles.

Wars are no more so in order to determine who gets what lands and resources, the "robot jox" hop in these suped up Mech's and battle each other one on one - winner gets the spoils. Well our hero in training Athena (played expertly by Miss Johnson) tries to trick the aging Achilles (seriously - I cant make these names up) so she can take the fight (you see, Athena is a part of a new breed of jox that have been genetically enhanced to be superior fighters - but as is the case with all genetically enhanced to be superior fighters, they still suck when compared to the old standby).

Some fisticuffs ensue and what takes place during this fight is bar none the most egregious use of a stunt double in the most glorious, it hurts my eyes yet I cant turn my head sort of way. Without further delay, I give you ... ROBOT JOX! (scene is 2 minutes in).
