Patriots what?! Big Texas is the real dynasty

If you have a vendateria in your office, frequent watering hole, local minimall or home, you're probably aware of Big Texas, the 75 cent pastry that acts like a meal.

I'm proud to post here that Big Texas isn't just your average vending-machine fare. It's a champion. An
Automatic Merchandiser Readers Choice champion -- for the third straight year.

Of course, this came at the expense of
Mrs. Freshley's Jumbo Honey Bun, which one could call, sadly, the Cowboys of the vending machine pastry division.

Here's what Mrs. Freshley's has to say about its pastry:

"Mrs. Freshley’s honey buns are probably the most award-winning honey buns in America. Mrs. Freshley’s Jumbo Honey Bun has captured three American ChefsBest Awards, four Snack Producers Award for Breakfast Foods, and Automatic Merchandiser magazine’s 'Pastry Product of the Year' award over the past several years. These accolades prove that Mrs. Freshley’s Honey Buns deliver on both great taste and great quality."

Here's the tally:
  • Three American ChefsBest Awards
  • Four Snack Producers Award for Breakfast Foods
  • Seven-time winner in a span of 11 years Automatic Merchandiser magazine's "Pastry Products of the Year" awards
Like Joe E. Tata, Mrs. Freshley's Honey Buns owned the 1990s. So Big Tex winning it's third straight Automatic Merchandiser magazine's "Pastry Products of the Year" awards is quite the feat.

In honor of this accomplishment, I shall eat my first Big Texas next week. Stay tuned.
